The program has established 37 RiceBIS clusters nationwide, covering 519 farmers with 547 ha of farms for organized production and group marketing. An average of 60 farmer graduates per RiceBIS site were trained through modified Farmers Field School (FFS). High-yielding technologies promoted by the program contributes to 0.54 tons/ha average yield increase on 2017 WS and 0.56 tons/ha on 2018 DS cropping. Through group marketing, 582 tons fresh palay, 15.55 tons milled rice, 4 tons seeds, and 0.51 tons of brown rice were sold during 2017 WS and 2018 DS.
Stakeholders were collaborated as formal and committed partners of the program nationwide, with signed MOAs to provide support in agroenterprise development. In essence, agroenterprise development is gradually contributing to the improvement of farmers’ competitiveness through group marketing of farmers’ high quality products.
